What’s New in Client Installation and Configuration

Client installation and configuration in SQL Server 2014 is very similar to SQL Server 2012. The SQL Server Native Client (abbreviated SNAC or SNAC11) net-library introduced with SQL Server 2012 is the same one distributed with SQL Server 2014—there is no new version. This native client (SNAC11) is a single dynamic link library (DLL) containing both the SQL Server OLE DB provider and SQL Server ODBC driver.
