Target Server

The final component in a Distributed Replay environment is the target server. The target server is the SQL Server instance where the Distributed Replay clients apply the replay workloads.

The target server must be running a version of SQL Server that is supported by Distributed Replay. SQL Server 2014 Distributed Replay supports target servers that are running SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2012, and SQL Server 2014.

The version of SQL Server that was used to capture the trace data that will be replayed is important too.
