Locating Information Using SharePoint Portal Server 2003 Search
So far, this chapter has discussed the elements that make it possible to find information in SharePoint Portal Server 2003. This section concentrates on the actual search functionality available to the user. SharePoint Portal Server 2003 provides the ability to find people, documents, lists, sites, and other information in the portal. When using SharePoint Portal Server 2003 for searching, for the most part, only items that the user has rights to appear in the search results. Exceptions are noted throughout this chapter.
