Addressing Elements That Are Not Directly Migrated
The SharePoint Migration tool was written for migrating standard websites, meaning that many types of customizations are not migrated properly. Although document content, lists, views, users, and permissions are generally migrated, many types of visual customizations made with Microsoft FrontPage or other web page editors are not. Because of the difference in architecture and redesign of the SharePoint environment, there are also features that could be used in SharePoint Team Services that will not work in a Windows SharePoint Services environment. The major migration considerations are discussed in the following sections.
