Migrating from SharePoint Portal Server 2001 to SharePoint Portal Server 2003

The only Microsoft-supported way to migrate from SharePoint Portal Server 2001 to SharePoint Portal Server 2003 is using a process that is basically an in-place upgrade. Additional options for migrating SharePoint Portal sites are currently in development by third-party software companies.

The end result of the migration is a SharePoint Portal Server 2003 portal site with a backward-compatible library containing the migrated documents from the SharePoint Portal Server 2001 portal.
