Creating a Custom Action to Print Lists

To help highlight the benefits of using custom list actions in SharePoint Designer, I use a solution that was originally deployed using a custom Feature. In the following example, I use Ishai Sagi’s example of a creating a list view print action for SharePoint 2007 lists, which is still relevant in SharePoint 2010, and works for both lists and libraries. But in this case, rather than creating a custom Feature to deploy and install the custom action, I leverage the built-in custom action capabilities in SharePoint Designer 2010 to create the custom action and make it available in the LIM.
