List and Content Types Supported for InfoPath List Forms

When working with lists in the Web interface, the option to Customize Forms appears in the ribbon where the list supports using InfoPath forms. Document libraries do not support using InfoPath List forms. When working with lists in SharePoint Designer, you also have the option of customizing forms specific to a list’s content types. However, SharePoint Designer shows the Design Forms in InfoPath command even where the list or content types do not support InfoPath.
