Adding XLVs to Other Pages and Sites

So far, you’ve seen how to create new XLVs in lists and libraries so that those XLVs show up as new views in the Web interface. In this section you learn how to add XLV instances to other pages throughout a SharePoint site. Adding XLVs to other pages means that you are not limited to working with XLVs within the respective list or library. Quite often it is best to place and customize an XLV on a page other than the actual view page. For instance, you may choose to add several XLVs to a Web part page and create Web part connections between those XLVs to, in effect, create a dashboard.
