Permissions and Security

When working with ECTs, permissions are required in both SharePoint and the external system you are working with. When considering consuming data from an external system, you need to consider what operations your users need to perform against that system. For example, when consuming data from an SQL database, the minimum permissions on the database need to be db_datareader, which enables the user to read from the database. To be able to write back to the same database the user also requires the db_datawriter permission set.
