New in SharePoint 2010 Master Pages
If you’ve worked with SharePoint 2007 sites, there are a number of new features introduced in SharePoint 2010 master pages you should be aware of, including new SharePoint controls to manage ECMAScript and communication between the ribbon, toolbars, and other controls. Two notable new controls include the following:
• SharePoint:ScripLink handles ECMAScript references added to a page, such as the dialog.
• asp:ScriptManager is a Microsoft ASP.NET control to manage ECMAScript (JavaScript and Jscript).
SharePoint 2010 master pages also include a SharePoint:UIVersionedContent control for backward compatibility and upgrade purposes. A UIVersion property of 3 indicates a UI compatible with SharePoint 2007, and a ...
