Working with Colors

The corev4.css primarily references colors using hexadecimal valuesrather than the color name, such as red or white. Hexadecimal values are more robust in terms of cross-browser compatibility and, although SharePoint Designer typically applies colors in the color name, you should use hexadecimal values where possible. See “HTML Color Names” at http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_colornames.asp for a list of color names supported by all browsers.
