Accessing Field Controls in SharePoint Designer
Field controls are only accessible in SharePoint Designer when you are editing a page layout. To access field controls, you also need to open the Toolbox task pane by clicking the ribbon’s View tab, clicking the Task Panes command in the ribbon’s Workspace group, and then clicking Toolbox.
In the Toolbox task pane (which by default opens to the right of the workspace in SharePoint Designer) there are two types of fields (see Figure 15.20):
• The Page Fields section represents those fields (columns) directly inherited from the parent content type, such as the Article or Enterprise Wiki page layout.
• The Content Fields section represents additional fields added to the new page layout.
