Accessing a Team Site’s Default.aspx page

Where you’ve provisioned a site based on the Team site template a page named default.aspx is created in the root of the site, outside the Site Pages, or other Wiki Page, library. Default.aspx is a legacy feature from SharePoint 2007 team sites and is created in SharePoint 2010 team sites in the case that the site’s Wiki Page Home Page Feature is deactivated, where the site’s home page defaults to the default.aspx page.
