Content Page Storage Location

Although content pages can be created in multiple locations in SharePoint Designer, Web part pages are always stored in the Site Pages library, or other library based on the Wiki Page library. This behavior is true, even when creating Web part pages within a publishing site or a site that has the publishing Feature activated, irrespective of where you attempt to create the Web part page in SharePoint Designer. For instance, if you create a new Web part page from the SharePoint Designer backstage, then you are presented with the New Web Part page dialog, shown in Figure 12.7, which prompts you to save the page in one of the Wiki Page libraries within the current site, such as the Site Pages library.
