Non-editable Page Regions

When editing a content page in normal or advanced mode, such as a Web part page or an ASPX page attached to a master page, notice that as the mouse pointer moves over certain regions on the page in design view, you cannot edit those sections and the mouse cursor changes to the universal “no” symbol:

Those non-editable regions, such as the site banner and logo, are part of the master page to which the content page is attached and they cannot be edited from the content page. Instead, those regions are edited by opening and editing the site’s master page.
