What’s in an Application Template?
The Microsoft FAB40 templates, also referred to as application templates, include custom Features that activate lists and libraries when a site is provisioned from one of the application templates. For example, one of the more popular application templates, the Bug database template, includes Features that provision bug tracking list instances and bug tracking modules specific to functionality provided with the template. Other application templates include list workflows.
