Cross-Site Collection Navigation

So far, we’ve discussed navigational settings within the context of a single site collection. With the exception of sharing metadata and content types across site collections using the managed metadata store and content type hub, and portal site connections (see the following section), there exists no out-of-the-box option to share common navigational elements across multiple site collections.
