Create a New Site Collection from Central Administration

To create a new site collection, use the following steps.

1. On the SharePoint Web front-end server containing Central Administration, click Start, SharePoint 2010 Central Administration to launch the Central Administration user interface.

2. In Central Administration, click Application Management in the left-hand menu.

3. On the Application Management page, under Site Collections, click the Create Site collections link.

4. On the Create Site Collection page, select the Web application.

5. Under Title and Description, provide a title for the new site collection.
