Positioning the Ribbon on a Page

By default, the ribbon remains constant at the top of the page, even when the page scrolls vertically. This is to ensure that editing commands are readily available when editing pages and working in lists and libraries from any location on a page. Some organizations choose to make the ribbon scrollable so that it moves up as the page scrolls vertically and behaves more like a banner in a traditional website. However, this then means that when editing pages, it is necessary to continually scroll up and down the page to access the relevant editing commands in the ribbon and therefore it is not ideal, especially in internal environments where the ribbon is leveraged extensively during page editing.
