Chapter 16. SharePoint workflow fundamentals

For Microsoft SharePoint 2013, Microsoft completely redesigned the architecture of the workflow engine. Unlike previous versions of SharePoint (2007 and 2010), which were based on Microsoft Windows Workflow Foundation (WF) 3.0, the new 2013 engine supports WF 4.5. This chapter walks you through the architecture of this new engine. Along the way, you’ll learn how to work with Workflow Manager 1.0, which provides a WF 4.5 server farm.
