Using Visual Upgrade

The visual upgrade process can be used either with an in-place upgrade or a database attach upgrade, as previously mentioned. It enables the local site administrators to define when they would like to start using the new look and feel for SharePoint sites.

Caution

Visual upgrade is not available when upgrading My Site. When upgraded, My Site immediately assume the new SharePoint 2010 visuals.
