Chapter 6. Creating Your Project Schedule

Creating the project schedule is simultaneously the easiest and most difficult part of managing a project. It is easy because there are very few restrictions—it can be created exactly as you’d like it. It’s the most difficult because how you create your schedule will influence the entire remainder of the project. Keep in mind that the schedule is always a work in progress; it will be out of date almost the minute it is finished.

Entering Project Tasks

After you have created your new project (defined its properties, calendars, and so on, as discussed in Chapter 5, “Setting Up Project for Your Use”), it is time to create the project’s schedule. This chapter focuses on doing just that.
