Creating a Private Cloud

The preceding sections of this book focused on the Virtual Machine Manager (VMM) elements that let you define the fabric of the private cloud. The VMM infrastructure enables you to shield users from the mechanics of deploying resources for their use. Instead, they see an abstraction of the underlying resources that supports the main benefits of private clouds described in Chapter 1, “Understanding Cloud Computing”; those benefits include self-service, access over a network, quick allocation and deallocation of pooled resources, measurement, and optimization.
