ASR supports replicating Hyper-V VMs to a secondary on-premises site. You can perform a regular or planned failover of Hyper-V VMs to a secondary site. Use the regular failover in the event of an unexpected disaster or outage. Follow the same steps above for failing over Hyper-V VMs to Azure. However, note the following important steps:
- Skip step 6: In this scenario, the encryption key doesn't apply.
- Skip step 12: Re-protection in this scenario will be done through reverse replication. See failback in the following section.
