How to do it...

Once you have met the prerequisites for connecting Linux systems to Log Analytics, obtain your workspace ID and key, as you will need these for manually installing the Linux agent. To obtain the workspace ID and key, perform the following steps:

  1. Log into the Azure portal at https://portal.azure.com
  2. In the Azure portal, type Log Analytics in the search resources search field and under Services, select Log Analytics
  3. Select your workspace from the list and in the workspace blade, click on Advanced settings
  1. In the Advanced settings window, select Connected Sources, and then select Linux Servers
  2. Copy the values for the WORKSPACE ID and PRIMARY KEY:
