Arranging Overlapping Lines, Shapes, and Containers

When lines, shapes, and note containers overlap, you can determine which is on top by using an Arrange command on the Draw tab. Start by selecting the line, shape, or note container that you want to move up or down in a stack of overlapping items. Then, on the Draw tab, click the Arrange button and choose an option on the gallery:

  • Bring Forward: Raises the item one layer in the stack.

  • Bring to Front: Moves the item to the top of the stack.

  • Send Backward: Lowers the item by one layer in the stack.

  • Send to Back: Moves the item to the bottom of the stack.

Sometimes you have to repeat the Arrange command until the line or shape is where you want it to be in the stack.
