Selecting Parts of a Table

Before you can format part of a table, you have to select it. For example, to bold text in the first row, select the first row and click the Bold button on the Home tab (or press Ctrl+B).

After you select a part of a table, it is highlighted. Formatting commands that you apply while part of a table is highlighted apply to all highlighted parts.
