Creating Numbered and Bulleted Lists

Lists are invaluable for keeping information in notes. Use numbered lists to rank items in a list or describe step-by-step instructions. Use bulleted lists to present alternatives or list unranked items.

In OneNote, you don’t have to enter the numbers or bullets yourself. After you click the Numbering or Bullets button on the Home tab, OneNote numbers the list or applies bullets for you. You can choose from several numbering schemes and bullet styles.

To create a numbered or bulleted list, use one of these techniques:

  • Enter items for the list, select the list, and then click the Numbering or Bullets button on the Home tab.
