Creating a Notebook

OneNote is unusual in that you choose a folder for storing a notebook when you create it. In most applications, you create the file first and then choose a storage folder when you save the file for the first time. In OneNote, however, there isn’t a Save button or Save command. Notes are saved as soon as you write them.

The first time you start OneNote, the application bids you to create a sample notebook called Personal. After that, when you open OneNote, the previous notebook you were working on opens.

To create a notebook, click the File tab and choose New to open the New Notebook window. In this window, select Network (to store the notebook on a network or SharePoint site) or My Computer (to store the notebook on your computer). ...
