7.6. Report Design and Configuration
The section of PerformancePoint that falls into the Report area is significant because it's where we find the ProClarity technology that Microsoft recently acquired in the BI marketplace. ProClarity was known for its high-end "slice-and-dice" analytic screen components that provide an intuitive ability to browse the hierarchical data of SQL Server Analysis Services cubes.
Microsoft terms this technology the "Analytics" aspect of PerformancePoint 2007 and refers to the dashboard/scorecard technology as "Monitoring." Together the "Monitoring and Analytics" technology is what we're discussing in this chapter (sometimes referred to by Microsoft as "M & A").
