Customizing the Way Word Checks Spelling and Grammar

Depending on the type of document you’re creating, you might need to tailor the levels of spelling and grammar checking to make them appropriate for that type of document. You can customize the types of checking Word does, and you can even designate certain text not to be checked at all.

Specify What’s to Be Checked

  1. Click the Office button, choose Word Options from the menu, and, in the Word Options dialog box, click the Proofing category.
