Adding Shapes

Shapes are drawing objects that you can manipulate in many ways to create unusual and eye-catching effects. You can also use shapes as containers for text, which allows you to create callouts, pull quotes, advertising blurbs, and so on, producing all sorts of interestingly shaped special effects.

Draw a Shape

  1. Click in your document where you want to insert the shape.

  2. On the Insert tab, click Shapes, and choose the shape you want from the gallery that appears.

  3. Hold down the left mouse button, and drag out the shape.
