Fine-Tuning Your Layout

After you’ve composed your document, you can adjust the text flow—especially when a paragraph breaks across pages—to improve the look of the document. Word does much of this automatically, but you can make a few adjustments yourself.

Control Widows and Orphans

  1. Select the paragraph or paragraphs in which you want to make changes.

  2. On the Home tab, click the Paragraph button to display the Paragraph dialog box.
