Getting Started with Word To start Word

  • On the taskbar, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Microsoft Office, and then click Microsoft Office Word 2003.

Creating, Saving, and Closing Documents To insert a symbol into text

  1. Click the document where you want the symbol to appear.

  2. On the Insert menu, click Symbol.

  3. On the Symbol tab of the Symbol dialog box, scroll through the list until you find the symbol you want to insert.

  4. Click the symbol, click the Insert button, and then click the Close button.
