Summary

In this chapter, we have learned about findability and the inherent problems that findability and search present when you try to implement them in a SharePoint environment. Best practices on how to manage the index and query server roles have been presented, as well as some ideas on when you’ll want to use the federated query features in Search Server 2008. Finally, we briefly reviewed the findability tools that ship with SharePoint Server 2007, with a view to helping you understand what you’ll need to implement a robust findability solution in SharePoint Server 2007.
