The Data Form Web Part is one of the most powerful tools provided to you in SharePoint Designer for data retrieval and presentation. With its capabilities to work with almost all SharePoint data source types, the Data Form Web Part becomes one of the most extensible, customizable, and versatile Web parts offered with SharePoint Designer.

This chapter took you through the internals of the Data Form Web Part and discussed how you can create data views and data forms by using the Data Form Web Part. You learned about the recommended methods to create custom list forms for SharePoint lists and libraries.
