Understanding design tools in Word 2013

When you’re creating a document in Word, you can get as much—or as little—design help as you’d like. If you want someone professional to do everything for you, you can choose to create your new document by using a template. You learn how to start a new document based on a template in Chapter 5, but in addition to the templates you’ll find in the Word Start screen, you can search online and choose from thousands of templates in all sorts of styles and types.

Once you’ve started a new document, however, there are many additional design tools that you can use to give your document the look you want, whether that look is professional, whimsical, creative, or structured.
