The first thing you’ll notice after you click the Word 2013 app tile on your Windows 8 Start screen is the Word Start screen experience. This new screen is designed to help you find the file with which you want to work, whether it’s a beautiful template that you can use as the basis for a report you need to write, a document you’ve already worked on previously, or a new blank file.
On the Windows 8 Start screen, scroll to the right to display the Office 2013 app tiles.
Click the Word 2013 tile.
