  • InfoPath form templates contain all the necessary files, for example W3C XML Schema document, XML, XSLT, and script files compressed into a cabinet file that, in InfoPath, is given an .xsn file extension.

  • Options to save exist in both form-filling mode and in design mode.

  • In form-filling mode, Save saves an XML file (.xml file) that includes a processing instruction to access the corresponding form template.

  • In design mode, Save saves the form template itself (an .xsn file).

  • In design mode, you can make a form template available for users to fill in forms based on the form template by publishing the form template.
