Blocking Restricted File Types

Computer viruses and other harmful software are often transmitted by certain types of files. A file with the .exe or the .cmd file extension, for example, is designed to run a program or carry out commands on your computer. In some cases, these programs and commands can install unwanted software or introduce a virus.

One of the ways in which you can add a level of security to the work you perform in Groove is to use the option in the Preferences dialog box to block restricted file types. This option is turned on by default.
