Each page in a Web site represents one or more individual files. While you are building a Web site, you will become very familiar with its structure and have little difficulty identifying pages from their file names. However, visitors to your Web site will expect your pages to have more intuitive names, and that’s where page titles come into play.

The page title is the text that visitors see on the title bar when a Web page is open in an Internet browser. If you use page banners on your site, the page title is also the title that visitors see at the top of the page.
