Adding Text Annotations

To create a text annotation anywhere on a chart—for example, to provide source information for your chart data or to call attention to a particular chart feature—create a text box on the chart. Click the Layout tab, click Text Box in the Insert group, and then drag a rectangle on the chart. An insertion point will appear in the upper-left corner of the rectangle. Type or paste the text annotation, and then size and position the rectangle as needed.
