Linking and Embedding Other Files

Excel workbooks can hold a lot of data, and you can make your data even more meaningful when you include files created with other programs. For example, you might have created a Word document with important background information or a PowerPoint presentation that puts your data into context for your colleagues. You can include those files in your worksheets by linking or embedding the files as objects.

Embed a File in a Worksheet

  1. Click the Insert tab.

  2. In the Text group, click Object.

  3. Click Create From File.
