Storing an Excel Document as Part of Another Office Document

In the preceding section of this chapter, you learned how to link to another file from within your Excel workbook. The advantages of linking to another file are that the size of your workbook is kept small and that any changes in the document to which you link will be reflected in your workbook. The disadvantage is that the linked document must be copied along with the workbook, or at least be on a network-accessible computer. If Excel can’t find or access the file where the link says it is located, Excel won’t be able to display it.
