After you have created a PivotTable, you can edit it to control how your data is displayed. As an example, consider the following PivotTable.

In this example, two fields require editing: Month and Weekday. Because all of the data in the list used to create the PivotTable is from the month of January, no information is imparted by including the Month field. The unused Weekday field, however, can be used to limit the data shown in the body of the PivotTable to sales occurring on one weekday, such as Wednesday.
