Saving, Opening, and Protecting Charts
Charts are saved with the workbook in which they reside. To save a chart, simply save the workbook file. After you create a chart, you can choose Tools, Protection to lock the worksheet or chart sheet containing the chart. Then other people can't change the sheet and, therefore, the chart. The Protection command works the same way for both worksheets and chart sheets.
