Formatting Dates and Times

After you enter a date or time in a cell, you can choose Format, Cells and click the Number tab to change its format using any of Excel's built-in formats. Choose Date or Time in the Category box to display the list of available formats in the Type box on the right. A preview of the format appears in the Sample box in the upper right corner, as shown in Figure 15-4.
