Application Server
Office Communications Server 2007 R2 introduces a component called the Application Server, which provides a platform for supplementary Unified Communications applications. The Application Server automatically installs on the front-end server. In Office Communications Server 2007 R2, the Application Server provides the following four applications:
Conferencing Attendant. The Conferencing Attendant application enables conference organizers to include a dial-in number when scheduling audio conferences so that users can join the audio by using a regular mobile, desk, or home phone.
