Summary

This chapter highlighted remote access and some of the topologies used in the edge network. The consolidated, single-site and the multisite topologies were all identified and briefly explained. In addition, each of the three edge server roles (Access, Web Conferencing and A/V Edge Server roles) were identified along with how they are involved in enabling conferencing and basic remote access capabilities. Finally, Office Communicator Web Access (CWA) and Office Communicator Mobile Access (COMO) were identified as extended remote access tools that provide easier access for many users.
