Understanding Macro Security
As explained in Chapter 2, Microsoft has established making its products safer to use as a top priority. Prior to Microsoft Access 2003, it was quite possible for a malicious person to send you a database file that contained code that could damage your system. As soon as you opened the database, the harmful code would run—perhaps without your knowledge. Or, the programmer could embed dangerous code in a query, form, or report, and your computer would be damaged as soon as you opened that object.
Access 2003 provides enhanced security by offering you three levels of macro security on your system. You can set your security level by choosing Macro from the Tools menu and then Security on the submenu. The three levels are ...
